Mission 2012, Rekindling the Fire at Santa Maria del Popolo:

The mission is a four-day retreat that will be conducted here at Santa Maria del Popolo beginning Sunday evening, March 18, and ending Wednesday evening, March 21. Mission services will be held at 7:00 PM each of these days. The Mission Services include hymns, scripture readings, prayer and the Mission sermon. Our missionary priest, Fr. Jack Conley, will also be celebrating Mass each morning during the Mission at 8:15 in the Chapel.

Fr. Jack Conley, a Passionist priest, received his training in psychology from DePaul University, and his theology at Catholic Theological Union, Chicago. Ordained in 1976, he has served as Vocations Director (Passionist Community in Chicago), Campus Minister (Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY), Retreat Director (St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Director in Detroit, MI) and pastor (Immaculate Conception Church in Chicago, & St. Agnes, Louisville) Having preached both mission and Retreats throughout the United States and Canada, he now resides in Chicago.

Devotions

  • (Spanish) Our Lady of Guadalupe - Thursday at 7:30 PM in the Church
  • During the Exposition of the Holy Sacrament, we read the Gospel, listen to reflections, and pray the Rosary in community.

  • (English) Holy Hour - Wednesday at 3:00 PM in the Chapel
  • Together, we pray for the needs of our parish. The Holy Sacrament is exposed. We pray the Rosary and the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy.
